Yeni İşlemcinin Adı: İstanbul!..
AMD'nin 2009 başı için düşündüğü dörtten fazla çekirdekli işlemciler için kod adı belli oldu: İstanbul. 45 nanometre üretim sürecinden çıkacak olan yeni işlemciler, tek bir pakette altı tane çekirdek barındırabilecek. Aynı zamanda, İstanbul çekirdeğini kullanan AMD, iki tane 6 çekirdeklik paketi tek bir işlemcide yan yana getirip, tek işlemcide 12 çekirdeğe çıkabilecek. Intel'in uzunca süredir dört çekirdekli işlemcilerini üretmekte kullandığı bu yöntem, bakalım İstanbul işlemcisinde ne kadar verimli bir yapı sunacak?

Sevindiren nokta, İstanbul'un, çekirdek sayısıyla iyi şekilde ifade edildiği bir ürüne isminin verilmiş olması. Aynı zamanda AMD için önemli bir kilometre taşı olan yeni bir teknoloji, birkaç sene boyunca bütün dünyada ülkemizin en önemli şehrinin ismiyle anılacak.
